Specialist, Life Safety Systems
This position requires hands on involvement in all project stages which include schematic design, design development, contract documents, tender, construction, and post construction. In addition this position requires the successful candidate to attend meetings with clients, on-site contractors as well as generate specifications and contract documentation.
Responsibilities/Competencies:
- Conducting building audits
- Preparing audit reports and feasibility studies related to fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and emergency power
- Preparing design specifications for tender
- Developing drawing information for tender documents and managing projects
- Meeting with clients and authorities
- The electrical design of commercial, institutional, and residential buildings
- Must be proficient in AutoCAD
- Strong knowledge of Life Safety Systems, Canadian Electrical Code, Fire and Building Codes and other relevant codes and regulations
Environmental Specialist
We are currently seeking an Environmental Specialist. This individual must be motivated with exceptional leadership skills. The successful candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, good technical skills, knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Environmental Regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting hazardous material surveys, mould assessments, air sampling, environmental site investigations, water and soil sampling, providing recommendations for remediation, supervision of abatement, client relations and conducting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
Responsibilities/Competencies:
- B.Sc. degree or College Diploma in Environmental Sciences or Engineering, or related science field
- Minimum of two years experience in conducting Hazardous Materials inspections and Mould Assessments
- Strong communication, report writing and leadership skills
- Independent worker and a “team player”
- Successful candidates must have own vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and after business hours
- Willingness to travel
Specialist, Fire Safety and Emergency Planning Services
This position requires an experienced professional to create and implement fire safety and emergency preparedness plans.
Responsibilities/Competencies:
- B.Sc. degree or College Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering
- Prepare fire safety plans, emergency preparedness & business continuity plans
- Conduct fire warden training and emergency preparedness training
- Conduct building audits for emergency procedures
- Meet with clients and as required with local authorities
- Ensure timely delivery of projects
- Good working knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems
- Good working knowledge of fire and building codes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in past public speaking would be an asset.
- Knowledge of principles of emergency planning
- Experience in conducting training
- Experience in AutoCAD would be an asset
- Good organizational, analytical & problem-solving skills
- Experience or strong desire to work in both a team & independent environment
- A professional designation would be an asset
